Tobago Cays Caribbean sailing charter
The Tobago Cays are perhaps the most famous site of the whole Caribbean and a not to be missed stop, worth a visit duting Grenadines sailing holidays in the Grenadine islands. This is the location of the famous film “Pirates of the Caribbean” in a fantastic setting of white beaches, blue sky and green sea.
The paradise for Caribbean sailing charters
The Tobago Cays are a small group of uninhabited islands that have been declared a nature reserve by the government and managed by a national park in order to protect its beauty and landscape and territory.
Here you can find some spot diving and snorkeling among the most beautiful in the world, as well as the opportunity to moor overnight, and stop to admire the Milky Way as you’ve never seen thanks to the lack of light pollution in the ocean.
The coral reef
Protected by a coral reef in the shape of a horse, these waters are wonderful, full of colorful fish and sea turtles you can swim with. The crystal clear waters with blue green reflections are amazing.
The currents can be very strong here, then we recommend you to dive with a local dive -center, which will pick you up from the boat and show you the best dive sites of these fantastic waters.
Pristine nature and unique environment
The Tobago Cays has untouched nature and a unique environment, so we recommend all visitors to preserve and protect this wonderful natural resource. Here of course fishing, jet skis, or anchoring of dinghi is not allowed (except for the local diving centers)
Petit Rameau has a beach on the south side of the Cays, as well as Barabel , located southeast of Petit Rameau. Petit Bateau offers visitors a shaded beach to the north and another beach on the east side.
The best beaches
This beach to the east, is the best choice for the less experienced snorkeling, for its calm and not deep waters. The more experienced snorkelers can instead immerse themselves in the beautiful waters of Horseshoe Reef, but sometimes, however, the sea can be very rough.
Jamesby is the smallest and southernmost small beach of Tobago Cays, and also one of the most beautiful. Petit Tabac is the island where Captain Jack Sparrow, the character of the Film “Pirates of the Caribbean” was abandoned. Covered with coconut trees planted by John Caldwell (aka Johnny coconut ), and then cured by Glenroy Adams of Grenadines Dive, this crescent-shaped island is a good choice for fantastic scuba diving.
