DAY 1: Arrive in Marmaris
The vacation sailing and biking between Greece and the ‘Aegean East Sea. Arrival at the airport of Bodrum, Izmir or Dalaman and transfer to Marmaris. Check-in on board at about 14 pm. Visit the bazaar or the “hammam” before dinner on board.
DAY 2: Island of Symi
The first port of call will be the island of Symi. The entrance to the harbor is a view that is not easily forgotten , a stop not to be missed during our sailing and biking vacation in the East Aegean: pastel-colored houses, neoclassical style, form a perfect picture of the capital of this island rich of history.
A short bike ride to the beach will be a first taste of this wonderful holiday, and there we will have the possibility of the first swim in the Aegean Sea. In the evening, a guide will accompany the group to the upper town of Symi.
After a climb of 500 steps, the reward is a breathtaking view of the harbor and the bay hard to describe. With little luck, the day will end with an unforgettable sunset.
DAY 3 : Symi km 25
Continue our sailing holiday biking between Greece and ‘Aegean East Sea. In the morning we head to the other side of the island, in a truly magical place. A winding road will take you slowly on the crest of the mountain, leaving you enough time to enjoy the wonderful view.
The final destination is the bay of Panormitis, while a stage on the way to the monastery of the Archangel Michael is a must.
Back on board, we set off for the island of Tilos , and once landed the new bike path will lead us to the abandoned town of Mikro Chorio . The town of Mikro Horio was inhabited in the 14th century by the Knights of St. John who built a castle on a hill.
Until 1940 , the village had 750 inhabitants, but then little by little has been abandoned. Today, the old houses and buildings are decaying and have a crumbling charm left.
DAY 4 : Nissyros – Halki, 30 km
Formed by volcanic eruptions, the island of Nisyros is a place of wild and rare beauty. We’ll be cycling to Nikia, a village built right on the edge of the crater of the volcano at a height of 430m ; another place by the dramatic glamor. Another stop not to be missed during our sailing vacation with the bicycle between Greece and ‘ East Sea.
As you climb the green leaves more and more the place to gray and the landscape becomes more rugged and wild. Once in the village, we will enjoy a greek coffee in the central square.
From here we will proceed again to the crater with its sulfur springs steaming, continuing up to the small port town of Mandraki – whose appeal continues to attract visitors for centuries.
In the evening we return to the boat to dedicate ourselves to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening in an authentic greek fishing harbor .
DAY 5: Rhodes, Plimiri – Lindos , 35 km
The morning will be spent on board by the time it takes to go from Plimiri in the island of Rhodes. From here we proceed cycling on roads with little traffic. After a short break in a cafe by the sea will continue through Bahriyeli to Lindos .
This small historic village is considered one of the most beautiful in the whole Greece. The unforgettable view of this small town , with its cube-shaped houses and narrow streets in the shade and its mighty Acropolis, will be worth a climb, at the bottom is not too tiring .
DAY 6: Rhodes, Lindos – Kolymbia – Rhodes , 37 km
The tour today will take us from Lindos Rhodes island in the hinterland. The island of Rhodes was an important economic center in the ancient world. We will pass through old olive groves on secondary roads until Archangelos, where we will have a lunch in a typical Greek taverna .
After lunch the boat awaits us in the small port of Kolymbia Rhodes to take us to town. The rest of the afternoon will be spent visiting the fantastic medieval old town of Rhodes town .
DAY 7: Rhodes, Rhodes – Mamaris (3 hours walking)
After breakfast , the guide will accompany for a hike through the 2,400 -year history of the old capital of the island of Rhodes. The two deer at the Mandraki harbor will welcome you .
Here once stood the famous Colossus of Rhodes , the ancestor of the ” Statue of Liberty. ” The Colossus of Rhodes was a monument to freedom, and, like the Statue of Liberty , was the entrance to the harbor.
A monument amazing especially for its time, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world , which remained at the harbor entrance for about 56 years, until one day, an earthquake strikes the island and destroyed it.
then will devote the day to visit the city of Rhodes, in the narrow streets of the center. In the evening we will return to Marmaris where we will make a final stop at the bazaar or hammam before leaving.
DAY 8 : Mamaris strong >
